I guess the reason we are on this forum is we love our vehicles, sometimes the look, sometimes the way they drive, sometimes both, maybe even sometimes neither?
Often what we like can be similar types or vehicle, I have many I would like, but two I own could be considered "Chalk & Cheese" as they say because they are not too similar.....although both British and both Green.
Not counting daily drives as work can often dictate those, what have people got that you would not obviously count as "similar"?
Mine as you would imagine drive totally different to each other, but in their own way I enjoy them both.
The Land Rover is a 1959 Series 2 with a Rover 3.9 V8, the TVR is a S1 2.8i V6

I am always looking for a MK1 Air portable, but one that needs restoring and that's hard.
I also have a TVR S2, but with it I also own a Triumph Stag with a 3.5 V8 from a 71 P6, a Landrover TD4, a Suzuki Jimny, a triumph Thunderbird Sport 900 and a 1953 BSA Goldenflash...
I have had a multitude of vehicles over my time and I never stop looking for the next one it just make me tick I suppose.
The TVR makes me smile every time I get in it and that's what counts. I must admit I still cannot make my mind up if the TVR sounds better than the Stag!!
But thay both keep me and the people I pass smiling and that is good enough for me..

I think the S1 and the Series 2 Land Rover are a great combination, especially one with a V8! They are similar in some ways too, apart from the British bit that is, they are both easy to work on, full of character and both I suspect use fuel at an alarming rate!
I'm trying to persuade my wife that a series Landy is the perfect winter classic (I admit I don't use my TVR S3c during the filthy winter months and it remains in the garage ). So I'd likely need a scruffy one if I'm to use it during the winter without feeling guilty about it. A series 2/2a with a V8 is my preferred choice too so I am envious of yours but the way they are all increasing in value one of the those is out of my reach. Do you have a big garage or does the Landy live outside? Looking at it's fabulous condition I suspect it remains indoors. Thanks for sharing the pics.

At least yours are both British. I can probably better that!

Nice to have the two sides of the coin, but if push came to shove it'd be the TVR that left. The BX is just as much fun, but in a different way. It's also cheaper to run and faster, both around corners and in a straight line.
But....but......the noise of the TVR!!!

I keep both vehicles under a big long car port down the side of the house, all locked up and blocked in plus behind gates, my garage was too damp so best left outside undercover to let air flow around.As for the condition of the Land Rover, it doesn't always look like that as it does get used but not too abused. It has been to Belgium and France as well as various UK jaunts - and it does like a drink. Below are pictures of a very recent trip on to Salisbury Plain with some fellow Series 2 Club members, as you see it does get dirty

Yes TVR and Stag r both RHD and the 4 x 4 r LHD, the bikes well u just sit in the middle....
2 be honest not sure what I am going to do with the Stag and the BSA yet they were both presents over the years so difficult to `paret with but really difficult to register in Spain due to the Stag with the wrong engine and the BSA well I wont bother, they just would just say Que es!! which translats as what is it.
Still, we struggle on.
