Hi, is anyone able to help point me in the right direction for help with my 1989 S2.Its that time of year where I have a list of jobs planned for the winter on the S2, but some jobs I do not really want to try myself, as probably beyond my skill level.
Does anyone know any independent or individual mechanics they would recommend in or around Suffolk who specialise in TVR's that I could use, the only place I am know is the main dealer in Needham Markets, Kerridges, but cant afford their prices.

I am looking for some minor engine work, and also to get the sagging door fixed, any help would be greatly appreciated!

Mat Smith in Downham Markey gets good feedback. Is that anywhere near you?

I'm afraid reliable TVR people are few and far between. I've never used them but I'd say 40 miles wasn't that far given his reputation on here.

40 miles sounds like a good excuse to me wink I'd be disappointed if only 5 miles away lol

Or you could probably use Mat's courtesy Fiesta. He absolutely is worth the trip & very reasonable on price. If it is just engine tuning then as an alternative TopGearTVR uses & recommends Clive Atthowe Tuning but they are are probably further away in North Norwich

I'd consider yourself lucky to have someone with such a good reputation anywhere near so close!

From what I have read you are lucky Matt Smith is so close, have a look at his website as it will show you what he/they are all about.
I can just hope they relocate to my part of Hampshire smile

Nah, we've still got free movement for now.

Anyway, it's the ones coming out you need to worry about laugh

Mat doesn't just have his own S, he has completely stripped and rebuilt it.
He will sort your issues efficiently and honestly.
He is a true expert and very reasonably priced. And the courtesy car is free.
I still go to him, 3 years after moving 80 miles away and within 20 miles of three other TVR specialists.
