I think I`ve found the original manufacturer of our filler caps wink, I have sent them an E.mail with an image to see if they have a replacement filler cap. Here`s the link thingy http://www.ceandess.uk/contact-us/ I`m hoping for some good news on my enquiry.

Philpot found this company a couple of years back - dont remember it going anywhere to be honest ( i might be wrong). Definitely worth having a go though.

Graham Walker are the main suppliers of Scimitar parts. I have emailed them to ask if there is stock (which I assume to be vanishingly unlikely!), whether there are any plans to acquire stock, or whether they can even identify the supplier.
One thing we need to do before pursuing this much further is to contact TVR Parts Ltd. They have a responsibility to source parts for 'heritage' TVR's and, in fairness to them, they have made some progress in doing so since we had formal contact with them a little over a year ago. (Glenrobbo and Barkychoc should be able to confirm that). I understand they have a list of parts to be sourced as and when time, money and other priorities allow. I have no idea if fuel caps are already on that list.
Does anybody know if these caps are perculiar to the S series or used on any other TVR's?

Nice clear pic Glen. Some more info, the renowned Norman Farmer former owner of 'Gerald' took this up with Middlebridge Scimitar when they made a run of Scimitars after Reliant ceased production. There is a good deal of relevant information in the attached write up. At that time Middlebridge confirmed that the original production moulds for the parts which had been made for Rootes (Sunbeam)had been destroyed. They actually got some unfinished ones from the old TVR Car Parts and completed them. There were no more available and no economic prospect of making and using new tooling at that time.
Whether the re-manufacture by modern processes, using an existing cap, would be economically viable remaisn to be seen.

I think in the event of a really pitted filler cap, the Phillpot secret filler option is the best solution.

You are correct Tinks but probably longer ago than you think! Must have been more than 5 years ago, and from the old TVR Car Parts in the SW.
