I know we all drive around with the roof off/top down, but where and how do you store your two roof panels?
Originally they came with storage bags and you could put them in the boot, I want to put mine in the boot but do not want to damage them, so what top tips do people have please?
I thought I read somewhere IKEA sold something suitable??
Thanks,
Andrew.

Phillpot was doing a nice line in replacement bags for the roof panels, and tools, might be worth asking him.

Just the job, any left? (probably the pink ones).

Thanks...

Hand made to order Sir, Black vinyl with your choice of logo colour.

Say the word and I'll set the wheels in motion, £48 pair but I was originally mis-quoted on the postage, £2.85 doesn't unfortunately cover it will have to be £5 unless we can meet up somewhere? Chatsworth 2nd October scratchchin

Great, can I order a pair then please, happy with the £5 P&P too, if you can send me payment details etc.
As for logo colour? was Silver available? or Dark Green maybe.
Thanks,
Andrew.

There is another way!!!
(Still worth having the bags though)
Quite a few of us have now changed the boot arrangements to provide for the roof panels to be stored from inside the car. The biggest advantage is that it allows much easier use of the boot space for packing luggage. Especially if you are travelling 2 up getting luggage and panels in the boot, especially if it rains, is a right pain.
PH S owner Alan461 came up with a brilliant plan (it has become known as Alans Roof Stowage Enclosure...ARSE!) which has been developed in various ways by owners.
Several of the cars on the last Eurotour had this mod and swear by it. It has certainly been an enormous step forward for my partner and I, we were really struggling with the old arrangements but it has made an amazing difference to ease of use of the car since. One of the very best mods I have made.
This is one of the threads concerned, http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=3&a...
I must download photographs of the slight development I made, and note down the necessary dimensions.

Thanks for that, although not so keen on hacking my S apart, might be the bit that's holding it all together yikes
You would think some room could be found under the bonnet.
I must say the MG I just sold had a clever roof design.......it just all folded back as one, and took up less room than what remains on my S laugh

But then it wouldn't be an "S", the quirky bits help make it the car it is........

Any idea roughly how long it will be?
Don't suppose a matching space saver spare wheel option is available too is it?
Thanks,
Andrew.

One of these? £25 and the fiver postage should cover this as well, I think.

Can sort out payment, address's etc. once they're made wink

ETA Chris is most inconsiderately on holiday till Monday! they should be made by weekend 10/11 so in post to you Monday 12

OK, I would like a space saver cover done too then please, if they are sent together hopefully the postage will still be £5.
Thanks again,
Andrew.

this targa panel storage solution is brilliant! i am definitely doing this to mine! i usually only take the roof of it i am confident it will stay dry and just stick the panels in the hall just inside the front door of the house before setting off as it is such a pain trying to get them in the boot! love it!

Saw the actual car with this ingenious conversion
Really good idea gives a lot more space in the rear of the cars
