...don't count on me yet, but if the weather is reasonable, then it would be a good excuse for a drive up from Norfolk to help....I remember following that bloke in th flat cap around the Alps.....and want another chance to try and win the car-park drag race at the bottom of Val D'isere .....so I need you back on the road Jaye.

MorningAndy & Ray, please can you let me know whether you can make it, also whether you received my PM with my address...weather looks like it should be dry but chilly
Cheers

Hi Jaye, sorry for being a late entry on this…. Are you still needing assistance for this weekend?
My plans have changed, so frees me up for Sunday (I could even bring along my son along who is much stronger than me!). If you have mustered enough bodies already, no worries - but it would be useful to see what you have done before it gets all hidden by fibreglass.
I’m not too far away, just a skip down the M1.

Hi Jaye,
I have been holding off volunteering for this in the hope that my back would be in a better state, unfortunately it's not which renders me pretty much useless for this particular task. Shame, I would have liked to see it go back on, especially since I was present for the removal.
Hope it all goes well mate, it's not too bad a task.
Good luck,
Carl.

...as long as the rain isn't too bad I should still be there Jaye...a nice little run up from Norfolk to assist a fellow S enthusiast.......and blag some coffee and bacon butties...
Well, fingers crossed, the weather is looking like the rain should be minimal...bacon (and sausage) butties & coffee (and tea) will be plentiful Cheers
Jaye
OK Jaye,
I'll be there tomorrow.
I presume that you have completed a full risk assessment and submitted the appropriate forms in triplicate to each of the following:
The Health & Safety Executive,
Wakefield Borough Council Extraneous Events Department
TVRCC Events Committee
The Ridley Household Bacon & Teabag Purchasing Management Board Senior Executive
Also don't forget to have the Accidental Damage &/or Personal Injury Liability Waiver Forms for all attending to sign.
You will also need to erect those "No Dogging" signs at prominent positions around the location.
Safety!
See ya termorrer!

Firstly a HUGH THANK YOU to Richard, Glen, Steve, James, Ray & Barry for all your help today...
So, first the rain tried to stop us...a bit of make-shift tent required...
Then after some great efforts by all - I'm sure there are some photos of all the hard work going on...but...the body is back on...
And finally back in the garage
Also, thanks must be said to Revlimiter for the butties & steady supply of tea
A bit of a re-arrange of the garage now required & then on with various further bits of work...but now hopeful of being back on the road next summer
Cheers

First we had to remove the bonnet from it's nestling place on the garage wall to make room to lower the body from the ceiling...
Then we manhandled the body outside and hung the bonnet from the ceiling out of the way.
Then we realised ( actually Ray suggested! ) that we would need to hang the rear of the body from the block & tackle to get enough height, so we took the bonnet down again and turned around the positions of the body & chassis so the back end was liftable.
It was then a case of adjusting the height and angle of the body to allow it to slide over the gearbox chassis rails and gradually lower the rear taking care to trap everything we possibly could. ( No fingers were lost. Well I never heard any screams! )

Then it was time for bacon & sausage butties! ( Again, no fingers were lost, but it was a near thing! )
Another successful S Club mini-gathering!
Job jobbed, then it was roofs off for the sunny drive home to Durham, Preston, Essex, Stockport ( The Duke of York ) and Jacksocketshire.
Thanks Revlimiter, you did us proud! And the weather was eventually kind as well!
Footnote: It was universally agreed that AutoAndy is a lightweight!
However, he does have the redeeming feature of being our S-Ed, and entertains us with his sober thoughts whilst waiting for flights in far-flung airports, so we forgive him.
