To stop me asking so many basic questions and also for my own sanity is there a Workshop Manual and also a "Parts" Book available for the "S", mine being a 1988 280 S?
I appreciate some things/parts are obsolete but to have a record would help.
Thanks,
Andrew.

Hi Andrew,
The Bible, as it's known on here, aka "The TVR S Series" by Steve Heath is a handy reference for running and owning an S. The Second edition is your best bet, it's more comprehensive.
Be careful though, because not everything in.it is gospel wink

For more comprehensive info on the 2.8 Cologne V6, get hold of a Haynes workshop manual for either the Ford Granada 2.8 or the Capri 2.8.
For the running gear like driveshafts, brakes etc, the Sierra manual is the one.
You can pick up Haynes manuals on fleabay or at Autojumbles.

There is a parts list on this forum, click on "Useful links" at the top of the page. Tim TVRees has done a brilliant job of updating a lot of the info.

TVR Parts Manual (lots of gaps)...... Clicky

I don't believe a proper workshop manual was ever produced?

A guy called Steve Heath wrote a book "The TVR S Series" (commonly referred to as the bible) which contains a lot of useful stuff, and the odd mistake, but well worth getting your hands on a copy.

Used to be available on Amazon but looks like there is only a (very expensive) second hand first edition on there at the moment?

Get a second edition if you can, cover picture is a close up of right front corner of an S bonnet.

The Steve Heath bible is still available from http://ecumate.com/shop/index.php/cPath/23. Cheaper than used ones.

Which Sierra Haynes manual should I be looking for please as there seem to be a few overlapping time wise?
Also I noticed a Sierra Haynes manual that says it's 1982-87 and covers V6 Engines, would that cover the engine too or was a different one used in the Sierra?

Thanks.

So long as it says 2.8 and not 2.9 it'll be good enough.

Same basic engine in TVR, Sierra, Capri, Granada

Anything which says Ford V6 will be helpful. Sierra, Granada, Capri or Scorpio. I bought my copies for a few quid each on eBay, search around a bit, so they'll not break the banksmile

Good to hear that you have also gone for the SH book (not Bible !), It's also a great source of information about these special cars.

Thank you for the link, mine has arrived and very pleased.
Cannot believe the prices on eBay when these are still available here. Maybe people are not aware of the source.
Thanks again.
