S3 Differential

I'm looking to get a LSD for the S but there's no tag or codes that I can see on the diff - does anyone have a part code, ratio size etc.. for a standard 2.9L S3? What's 7" or 7.5" & 100mm flange etc..? Also, where's the best place to look - ebay?

7 1/2" (7" can be used with spacers on top mounting I believe).
100mm bolt on flanges
3.64 ratio, could be 3.62 can't quite remember.

Where to find? Sorry can't help with that one.

Hello

You could try to find an early Granada Cosworth unit but these are rare and expensive and probably goosed anyways.. I would ask Bara Motorsports to rebuild yours with the LSD of your choice, viscous, plate or ATB added.

They built my 7" 3.14 with a viscous LSD I'm very happy with it and it should last the life of my car.

Thanks Damian, I was assuming that I'd have to buy a second hand LSD and then fit, but it would be far easier to send mine off to change to a viscous LSD type. I guess this would be an expensive option? I'll contact them and find out.

I had a tuned viscous unit fitted but he also supplied the 7" diff and crown wheel. Get a price and you may be surprised,

Once rebuilt you will then have a lovely good as new diff. I guess the value comes from how long you intend to keep the car.

Putting a LSD on is seriously one of the best mods you can make to your S.
