Just replaced the engine mounts after realising the sump was resting on the anti-roll bar and think the sump could do with a coat of paint as it's got a fair bit of surface rust.

I don't think the sump comes out easily as the cross member is in the way but want to paint it over; what's the best type to use? Will stone-chip peel off when the engine heats up?

Cheers,

Steve

Are you looking to spray or brush?

Stone Chip is usually spray, would take a lot of masking scratchchin

If brushing something like Hammerite Smooth should be up to the job, imho.

I've got hammerite smooth lined up to go but wondered if there was anything better.

I've been looking at your removable crossmember, is it a threaded plate that's then welded onto the chassis?
