Hi Gents

I have finally received my new chassis for my beloved S1 2.8 V6 and I am in the process of getting new parts to bolt on to make it all new again.

My Question to the knowledgeable men on this forum would this be an ok rear diff mounting to purchase, I believe they are from ford sierra cosworth.

http://www.burtonpower.com/rear-differential-mount...

and one more question the brake pipe kit for a 2.9 would this do?

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Automec-Copper-Brake-Pip...

thanks in advance

John

ps I will start posting picks of rebuild when I start.

nowt wrong with that Burton diff mount but a few more (bit cheaper) on Ebay....... diff mount

Brake pipes should be ok, stress it's a V6 car with drum rear brakes when you order.

If you're confident with using it I'd get one of these and make your own, get them bang on.

ETA just noticed the price of the pipe kityikesI'd definitely get the flaring tool!

The diff mounting looks like it will fit. The P/N of the original Ford part from my S2 was 86BB-5K818-AC. Might be worth checking with the supplier, if the two are compatible.

Brake Pipes : I didn't buy this kit, but here is some info. The original Cu brake pipes have 3/8" UNF and M10/1mm fittings at the rear. Front is all M10/1mm. In total, there should be 7 pipes for the complete car.
The small T connector at the rear of the car is all 3/8" UNF. Again, I suggest to check if this is what is in the kit.

Here is an overview of the rear pipes which I made recently, based on the original pipes from my car.

I'm counting 8........... whistle

Personally I'd bin anything imperial and pipe it all metric.

Mixing imperial and metric really is a poor show (but typical of TVR) and totally unnecessary as none of the major components are imperial.

Thanks for quick response gents, I will ask the relevant questions.

I don't fancy making the brake pipe ends.

While we are on the subject of diffs, does anybody know which ratio Sierra diff is used in the 2.8 S1, cant seem to find it. Mine is going to need to come off this winter.

The V8S has a different beefed up mounting over the V6.

Pics below.

Note the rubber / metal mounts on the top of the diff bracket near the front of the diff are weak - both mine were cracked through but I just fitted new - I didn't change anything.
