I've got a leaking driver side rear wheel cylinder on my S3. Looking for confirmation that it's a standard Sierra 2.0 petrol or 2.3 diesel that I need as a replacement - Lucas 64677523 and shoes are S28J 10031 or Ferodo F5B176A? Also what are your thoughts on replacing both, although only the one appears to be leaking. Many thanks.

I got the rear wheel brake cylinders for my 1989 2.9 S2 from my local Eurocarparts part No 134590058 described as being "wheel cylinder Ford Escort/Fiesta/Sierra." cost £17.40 the pair in July last year. They were an exact match for the ones that came off

I have always been told that any brake parts should always be replaced on both sides at the same time.

Brake shoes I used were Mintex MFR163 described as for "ford Sierra (GBG)" I cant find the receipt at the moment but I have the price noted as £20, again from Europarts.

I hope that helps

Lewdon, many thanks. Quick update replaced both rear brake cylinders and shoes; cylinders were £25.98 for the pair from Eurocarparts (part no. 134590058) and the shoes were £18 from GSF (Ford Sierra 2.0 petrol).
