I currently have Imola's on my S2, 15" fronts and 16" rears. I don't mind them but have always hankered after slots as I suspect my 89 S2 may have left the factory with them on. So, I found a set on eBay, that I bought off a nice fella with a heavily modified S that is due on the front cover of Sprint (bright orange with 5.0 Griff V8). They needed refurbishing so off to Pristine Wheels in Woburn, and here they are ready for new tyres tomorrow.

Wow!
Those look amazing Andrew! They have done a really nice job.

I am rather partial to the OZ slots as well, but I went down the route of flash chrome powdercoat rather than diamond cut, because it's just so much easier to clean and keep looking decent:

I did wonder how the diamond turn finish would wear... the folks at Pristine say they clear lacquer them afterwards to make them as long lasting as possible. I guess time will tell.

I've also found plastic grey centre caps on eBay with a 52mm ID and 60mm OD, which I'll stick 60mm gel TVR centre badges to :-)

Looking forward to seeing them on the car.

Nice wheels. I think they will suit your car nicely.

That sounds interesting. I've got the perfect number plate for him - J500 V8S. Unfortunately his car probably pre-dates the plate, so no contribution to the Tasmin fund from him then frown

Look great, the right wheel choice IMHO for your '89.
The slots do need the black in there, all part of the look.

Yep, my template for making those black centres out of sticky-backed plastic works a treat. wink

What about the slots/cut outs, are you going to do those black too, or maybe you already have?

New tyres fitted (Toyo Proxes CF2's) and new centre caps.

If anyone with slots needs new centre caps I found a set of grey plastic centres for £5.61 off eBay that fit mine perfectly, then bought new 60mm gel adhesive TVR wheel centre badges for £9.99 also off the bay and hey presto!

I'll post up a before and after of the car with the Imola's versus going back to the slots.

I like the effect of the flash chrome finish without the edges in black, so I'm happy with just the black centre, Andrew. smile

They fit from the front and very snug indeed with a reassuring click as you knock them in with the palm of your hand. I couldnt remove it from the front once fitted but found a knock with your fingers from behind was enough to pop an edge out.

That's fair enough, we all wouldn't want exactly the same vehicles, same colour, same interior, same lights, same wheels etc, would reduce what we all had to talk/type/bh about laugh

Reminds me of an MG Midget I once had, a 1974 1275cc which needed the wheels tidying up, those Rostyles gave me hours of fun with the templates and a few spray cans. Happy Days smile A mate of mine just painted his silver, both sets looked totally different.
