Front end refurb
Discussion
Looks brilliant! Always love these refurb pictures.
Are your cooling hoses 'standard' black silicone? If so did you find a cheaper source than ACT? I like to support the TVR suppliers but don't want to pay massively over the odds if I can avoid it. Or have you sourced some others? I like the look of them anyway and always assumed the silicone ones would be extra shiny even in black.

Went down the black silicone route to keep the look as original as possible, used ACT as an easy route without having to spend time sourcing the right sizes. Are your cooling hoses 'standard' black silicone? About time
Will have to pop over and see it now (if you text me your new address or is that the plan why you haven't yet - so I can't track you down?)
Not moved yet Max hence the cheap exhaust on the bay, this house selling stuff is a nightmare, anyhow I could do with a hand to lift the bonnet in place how you fixed this weekend? Will have to pop over and see it now (if you text me your new address or is that the plan why you haven't yet - so I can't track you down?)

...Rocker covers are powder coated and IMO look great and hopefully will last another 20yrs
I've been quoted £60 + VAT locally. How does that compare with what you had done? The same place quoted me £25+ VAT just blast off a steel wheel. That seemed a bit steep to me so I was wondering if they were pushing their luck on the rocker cover price.ChrisGadd said:

....Joe, remember the place we went to in Birmingham to look at getting your wheels refurbed? Next door (I think we wandered in there by mistake initially?) is a powder coaters, did my alloy ones, including strip, for £20 cash ..
I do. Looks like I might be needing the Pony 'S'express some time then We really do get well and truly ripped off down here.

You don't want any of that stuff clogging the engine oil ways

Too true!"My guy" asked me to screw them onto some pieces of board and he bunged up all the holes, oil fill, breathers etc.

I should be seeing Mike week Saturday if that helps. I guess we could arrange something.

Thanks. Let me know what works best for you. I'll need some notice to organise a board to screw the covers to and block up all the holes because I have the builders in at the moment doing the drive and they park their equipment in front of my garage and I can't get in there to play There may be a 14" steel wheel needing a cheap Northern job as well then, if that's OK?
