Somehow we've managed to lose one of the circlips from the diff stub axle.

Does anyone know where a replacement can be found?

Many thanks,

Steve

Long shot but you could try a Ford main dealer. It's sometimes surprising what they still have listed.

I lost a weird looking important wire clip the other day, after an hour of Basil Fawlty type searching I found it stuck to the magnet on my torch...................

After losing a small torch down the gear lever hole I found it nearly a year later trapped between the chassis and the silencer. It was still working!

You'd have thought so wouldn't you, and that's without the battering and baking it got rattling around on top of the silencer. Only a glimmer from the LED's but nevertheless, still working. I think I paid £3.00 for it. Amazing!

Found one.

I rang BearingKits.co.uk who sold me the diff' overhaul set; they put me in touch with Caterham who in turn put me in touch with Road & Race Transmissions. They are specialist Ford diff' repairers and don't usually supply parts but found one that was the correct thickness, took pity in the form of hard cash and sent me one for a tenner. Expensive I know, but better then being off the road.

When I spoke to them I jokingly said "if I have to pay a tenner I'll be happy just to get back on the road"....

Looking forward to a weekend in the garage and hopefully back on the road in two weeks.

I'd happily pay for a drink for a single odd item.
