3.7 turbo isn't exactly economical well maybe compared to the v8 5.0 a friend has the GT and gets like 13mpg when driven
Quick.

..ive just fitted manifold gaskets too, along with a new manifold, de-cat pipes and hockey sticks...only problem is that the hockey sticks are only just larger than the main exhaust pipe and so dont squeeze eon very well (more of a "just"-interference fit....any ideas?

Using a hack saw, cut 4 slots about 40mm down the pipe (ie 2 cuts at 180 degrees) and then clamp up. That should take up a small amount of slack.

Sounds like an ideal size for clamping as Joe describes.

God I'm bored. Had to go to the offie.
Gives me an excuse to ask something equally off topic but Americana.
This is a screen shot from The Parallax View (1974) I've been trying to work out what the car is on the right, partly obscured by the lamp post, looks British but I can't find anything like it. initially thought it was a Reliant Sabre but searches showed different.
Left of that I've got a possibly an MGB then Ford LTD, maybe a tiny bit of Mustang then maybe Cadillac? Not sure.

No idea what that is Alan.

I did get taken for a spin in a 'shtang recently. Big. Noisy. Rattly.

My guilty secret is that I'm lusting after a P38 Range Rover.

And a Porsche 911 996.

I think I must like undiscovered versions of iconic brands.

Looked at that, way different.
Too small to be American, has to be European at least

Maybe a rare brit kit car, but on Caliornia plates, looks 60's, 2 seater maybe coupe conversion.
Doesn't look bigger than a gt6, I just don't recognise the rear lights, overriders etc.

GT6 Mk2 was my thought too Alan, the American market Triumphs were popular and there were some differences but I cannot find a rear picture of one. Square USA plate would be possible. Not convinced though!

Check out Ashley GT ?

Rear looks too Kamm and window too small i reckon Ray. Still looks like a merc 190 sl with a weird roof conversion!

Still not convinced but nevertheless interesting. Ashley did several different hardtops for MG and Triumph cars this one looks promising?
