I thought id post a little update on the V8s rebuild.
The body is currently with Surface and Design having the underside and engine bay stripped and re painted prior to being reunited with the chassis.

The rebuild of the newly powder coated chassis started today, the two should be back together mid January ready for the repaint

Cheers Steve,

I said I'd never fit Gaz again after a bad experience with them on my Cerbera, I've been assured that the latest Gaz Gold are squeak free ..... I guess time will tell.

I'm changing the colour to Grigio Avalon, it's always a difficult decision and can be a costly mistake if you get the colour wrong, fingers crossed it's the right choice

Had no issues with mine, made a big difference over the original worn out shocks tho! Oh i just had a look on google at the colour & it bought up a few lambo's.. Very nice colour indeed I think simons v8s is of a similiar colour, will look really good. Just dont mess about with changing the ol headlights too fancier ones (totally regret mine sometimes rolleyes)

Its odd you mention this, i've purchased a standard set and a set of Halo ring type. I think i'll be fitting the standard set.

If it's not to much trouble I'd appreciate a piccy. No rush as I won't be at that stage for a couple of months.

Cheers

THey are super cheep now and really work.. I have halo as DRL so IMHO they look great all the time, I see then current one have a suplimental control box so maybe the indicators now work properly (i.e. Hazard warnings work as should)

I have actually ordered another pair to keep as spare so will report what the new box does.. also connectors etc on enewer ones look better in the later versions.

I've honestly never had lights this good.. I love them.

Happy Christmas folks.. also I wonder how many S's have had the underside painted, by the masters at S&D no less... very impressive.

Cheers

No problem, after trying both HID's & the Halo's, both are a vast improvement over the original setup, had few issues with the HID's (flickering, one coming on without the other, dodgy wiring or ballast resistor etc) but the halo's work great. I just cant get used to the look of them when there off rolleyes. I paid £270 for mine (i think) ill use them for now as it'd be a waste of money if not but eventually id like to just put the original headlights back. They are a classic looking car after all but as Damian said they are really good headlights, light up the road really well & you do feel alot safer when driving at night.

these look alot less intrusive compared to my ones & better to be honest. Be interested to see what they look like fitted.. Be sure to try some decent h4 osram nightbreaker bulbs or phillips extremevision to notice a difference over the original bulbs otherwise driving at night will be eek an erm experience laugh

I've been looking at various bulbs, I think I'll go with the Phillips no matter what units I fit.

I'll fit the Halos and see how they look, I'm hoping they're not to intrusive.

I think eurocarparts have got up to 69% off plus enter code 'XMAS' at checkout for further discount, id get some of the phillips bulbs from there before they go back up in price.

You'll have to put some pics up when you've got them on & let the 'S' jury decide laugh. Personally i think they'll look better than my alien looking ones (but they wont light up the roads as well)

They'd need to be a lot bigger to cover both the headlights on the S laugh
