Christmas Present for the "S"

Looks like a dust boot for a slave cylinder
phillpot wins - it is actually a new dust cap for the clutch slave cylinder. I made it from a cast liquid polyurethane and finished it off with some machining.I guess it's not really necessary, but I was looking for some more colour co-ordinated 'bling'
> Which leads me to the NEXT QUESTION - can anyone recommend a source for a new Clutch Slave Cylinder ?
I have searched around on the FORUMS and came up with this Slave-Cylinder
Seems very cheap - has anyone actually fitted this one ? Or, should I go for the OEM version ?

Use a series 1 or 2 Landrover, just remember the port thread is 7/16" unf not 10mm metric. 10mm will screw in but it WILL leak.
Did you actually use one of these and it fitted and functioned without any problems ? (apart from the thread difference, which you mention above).For example, this one ....... Series2
I'm only asking, since the Series 2 Land Rover was only built up to 1971. Were TVR still using these parts 18 years later on the "S" models ?
Or, is this a viable alternative ?
Same price as OEM... well nearly.. but I know you folks like to be frugal..

Wonder if the TVR part has a 7/16" UNF 20 thread ?

It is a viable alternative, TVR one has a different thread, it is also quite possible other manufacturers (BL?) used it post '71 but there is a far bigger spares market for old Land Rovers than, say, Sherpa vans or Morris Marina's if you get what I meanOr, is this a viable alternative ?
Update regarding the clutch slave cylinder saga .....
I still had the original 1/4" Cu pipe with original fittings and I measured these to be :
Slave End : Thread Major OD = 11.87mm, Pitch ~ 1mm --> Probably a M12 x 1mm
Master End : Thread Major OD = 10.86mm, Pitch ~ 1.75mm --> Probably a M12 x 1.75mm
For a 7/16" - 20 UNF, then the Major OD would be = 11.11mm, which was not on the original pipe fittings.
I just tested a new clutch master cylinder, see here > eBay < with a M12 x 1 mm fitting and the original Cu pipe slave end fits perfectly.
I know these are TVRs and anything goes, but it seems that my car doesn't have the previously mentioned 3/8" and 7/16" fittings.
Or, did I get this wrong somehow ??
... or, whatever, as long as it fits !!
Edit : forgot to mention that the one I tested was ~ £15 - the above link was just an example !
