Yeah, sounds like you know what you're doing but Penelope's always there if you get stuck rolleyes

That's a very small beer, the sort you get in French Hotels (if you can get any at all).

That very small beer was just the remains of 660ml of Staropramen.beer the rest was already in me.

This is the kind of thing I'm working with

Just wiring numbers and colours to be added.
A majority of the circuitry is borrowed from a 92 granada, the rest is all mine. (PS. I used to do this sort of thing for a living)

Looking good... are you using EDIS6 spark control or leaving it all to the ECU.. Also I can't see the ISCV are you planning to let the ECU do idle speed via timing etc..?

Quality job.. I assume it will all be covered in heat shrink once made.?

Very nice diagram, wish I had those skills.

Can't fault the beer choice either. I sampled one of these yesterday ....

The ISCV is to the right of the fuel pump, marked idle valve. The ECU, an Emerald K6, supports direct drive of the coil pack in wasted spark mode so no EDIS. the engine loom is made of high temp cable, so i will not be sheathing it in heatshrink.

But I will be sheathing other parts of the loom.

Doh I didn't see that on the diagram.. old eyes frown. That loom looks mostly covered to me? looks like heat shrink but could be wrong.. I think the ISCV is a good move i don't have one and she can be a little lumpy for the first few seconds on start up when it's cold. That emerald seems a good aftermarket ECU.

Cheers

Hi Alan..
If you haven't used Emerald before, do thoroughly read & digest the manual info. And if you have any problems don't be afraid to ask Dave Walker & his team. They have always been very helpful to me in the past.
If you are using the Ford type ISCV, make sure the software setting for such is at least 100hz. Its all in the manual, but I have known Emerald not to have pre set this, and its a right pain to find out why you've got no idle !

Thanks for the info,
I will be taking it to Emerald to be set up on their rolling road. I am using the standard 2 wire ISCV, so I'll check the frequency.

Their rolling road is the way to go.
Just make sure everything else is up to the stress of such, & that you've got a near full tank of fuel on board.
I just love watch a car go through its paces.
Even if you haven't bought the 3map switch option, its still worth getting them to do at least x2 maps. And don't forget to save them somewhere safe when you get home. After that you're safe to have a play at your own mapping.
If you wish !
The only issue I have ever had with stand alone ecu, is cold start settings. Its still a black art to me....
Enjoy the session.
TerryB.

Hi Alan, are you going to use coil on plugs or LS type coils.

Neither, I'm using a mondeo style coilpack in wasted spark mode. This thing doesn't rev high enough to warrant COP and they are just to close to the exhaust.

Been a while, B***red back and to much work has kept me away for a while, but trailing arms and wishbones came back from powder coating yesterday AM so i've been busy again. Gearbox is in on its new mounts. :-

This is the top stabiliser and remote gear change, the stabiliser is a Merc drop link.

not the best picture, but this is one of the 2 low mounts.

and this is the trigger wheel for the speedo, cruise control and power steering pickup, it's a shrink fit on the shaft.

Yes thanks,
Caterham De Dion, as suggested, I'm not far from their spares dept so went to have a look. Still sorting the compensator but needed the gearbox in place.
The cruise control is an after market unit from Waeco and very simple to use, http://www.conrad-electronic.co.uk/ce/en/product/8... I've added a steering column stalk.

it's kind of the obvious way, the origonal run was just plain wrong.
still TVR were not good at fine detail on these older cars, all a bit bodgit and hope.
