This has just come up on ebay. Is it a 'known' car?

2.8 but interior suggests quite a late one.

It had no valid MoT between 2011 and 2015 so most likely laid up a fair while. It has had an 'advisory' oil leak on every MoT since 2009!

Last year it had the following rectified to pass:

Nearside rear Rear position lamp(s) adversely affected by the operation of another lamp (1.1.A.3f)
Exhaust has a major leak of exhaust gases (7.1.2)
Nearside rear Suspension component mounting prescribed area is excessively corroded (2.4.A.3)
Exhaust emissions carbon monoxide content excessive (7.3.B.1a)

Yes it's mine.

Totally gutted to have to sell but I simply have to, need to raise some money to top up an endowment mad

Difficult to price, all I have done is added what I have spent on Tyres and Lights plus other bits to what I paid for it. Bad time of year to be selling but I will see what offers I get.

One day I will get another, I probably bought this one two years to soon for me weeping

Hard luck Andrew, we all know you will regret it but most of us will have faced hard decisions like that at some time in our lives. At least you gave it some use and it hasnt been lying idle for more years. Hope you sell it to someone who will value it, and hopefully will join the forum. Look forward to welcoming you back some time!

Thank you, I will certainly recommend this Forum if they are not aware of it, I found it to be very helpful as well as a good read (a good laugh at times too).

I bought my TVR from a local ish Farmer, he had dry stored it for a few years for a good friend of his who got a job working abroad, (I did see all the paperwork backing this up), when his friend committed long term to staying abroad the farmer bought it off him and got it back on the road and used it for a while. Decided it wasn't for him, after seeing the size of his Tractor I was not surprised.

Having serious doubts about selling but I don't want to take out another Mortgage, so rustling up some money by selling a few things to avoid it. Bl**dy Endowment policies, back in 1992 it seemed a good idea.

...maybe you were miss-sold! get one of those dodgy firms that keeps calling to check it out, get a win and then you can keep the TVR with a Little left to buy new shiny bits for it wink

We tried that, the way it was sold does not come into the claim scenario unfortunately.........censored

We have known for a while it would be short and have made plans accordingly to a point, the final bonus (or lack of it) is what has clucked things up ranting

loving the "1 left at this price"

Hopefully starting with a 4 rather than a 5 will drum up some interest for you (plenty watching) smile

We are in the same boat with 'interest only' endowment which seemed like a good deal at the time of highish inflation.

Don't know where they get the "1 left at this price" from, I have unfortunately only ever had the 1 TVR. (Maybe eBay are trying to help me by implying it's rare spin)

I thought the first price was too high, especially this time of year maybe, as you say maybe starting with the 4 may help.

Still don't want to sell and working on other options..........

Probably mostly on here.
100 buyers would be better.

Better still would be skillful application of man-maths that allow you to keep your S, as values will only go up in the future, not like endowment policy payouts.

HTH wink

Might be worth going into more detail on the chassis condition, as that's the biggest thing to consider on these cars.

At least it shows people are interested in an S, even if it is just for "historical" info'.

Working on my "man-maths" today actually, if a couple of other bits work out quickly I will be keeping my TVR hehe
Just waiting to hear back from someone....

No, no, no Richard he doesnt want to ENCOURAGE sales. The more the price drops and the more time he has to find other options the easier it is for him to justify keeping it!! Or maybe the easier it is to justify that to SWMBO? wink
