Bolt and nut question
Discussion
I would like to replace some of my wishbone and suspension bolts would like some advice as to correct grade steel.
Should I go for grade 8.8 bolts with grade 8 nylock nuts or grade 10.9 bolts with grade 10 nylock nuts.
I know RT Racing do a complete kit but I have read that someone said that they supplied 1/2 UNF and not 7/16 UNF do not know if that is correct or not.
Anyone who has done a referb recently and sourced their own bolts and nuts any info will be appreciated as a lot of suppliers have gone metric now.
Also any pointers as to where to purchase from especially the 5inch bolts.

Most of the fixings for the suspension are imperial sizes.Should I go for grade 8.8 bolts with grade 8 nylock nuts or grade 10.9 bolts with grade 10 nylock nuts.

The grades you mention 8.8 and 10.9 only relate to metric fixings so do not apply in this case.
The imperial bolts available in the sizes we need will be Grade 5 and marked with three radial lines on the head.

I have known people in the past fit stainless steel bolts in applications where they took out a 10.9 (blissfully unaware of grades) fastener thinking they would be "nicer looking" and the fasteners have failed in an epic way. Always worth checking :-)
