Hi! Well, long time no update...

Previous threads for continuity:

And so it begins...
The engine is OUT!
Chassis Strip Complete
Rebuild Updates!
Engine Rebuild

Today was the day! The body is now back on the car. Photo's of the big day below - the rain did not dampen our spirits!! It went on much easier (surprisingly) than I was expecting - mostly due to the fantastic advice provided by those who have gone before me smile Not drilled and bolted yet, got a bit more work to do to fully settle it down on the pads, but generally seems to sit nicely.

Really pleased to have it back on. Next major stages: get engine started then booked in at Surface and Design end of February followed immediately by D & C trim. I needed to get the engine running so I can get it back up our steep drive when it comes back - likely S&D will take the body back off to be honest as the bulk head is in a right state. Hoping to have ready to get on the road to run in over the summer and be ready to use for a trip in September smile Might not have all the mods done I hoped to by then, but hopefully sorted enough to have an MOT and be usable

This is how I have had the body stored for the last.... bl**dy hell, just over 2 years!

Once the muscle had arrived, the rain eased and we moved the body off it's stand and outside

A few pictures of the chassis and engine before the lift. Still a couple of fuel one connections to finish but other than that everything together.

Twin swirl pots the fantastic work of ShaunS3c

Have to say I'm pleased with the results so far, but I'm well ready for some professionals to help me out and get it back on the road now...had enough of living without it, so desperate to get it on the road!

Well done Andrew and keep up the good work smile
Engine and chassis look fantastic and the end is in sight.

Does that hose in the centre of this pic connect to the bottom of the fuel tank ?

It will do eventually....! Fuel tank to pump. Unfortunately I routed incorrectly and it is now cut too short - new one on the way to replace the one in the picture.

I am full of admiration for those of you that have undertaken the full Monty!smile

Maybe it's me, however, I think the 'naked' S, complete with engine, gearbox, etc., etc., looks fab and I would be tempted to leave it in the mancave just like that!yum

The chassis, engine and running gear look great. The body tub and interior will soon be matching. Looking forward to seeing the finished job

Looking great Andrew, nice work. clap I bet your enthusiasm levels have shown a marked increase now you've got to the 'body back on' stage.

I see the trailing arms are sorted wink.

I'm wondering why you didn't give Greymrj & me a shout when you needed a lift, seeing as your garage is not far from us. We love tea & bacon butties you know!

Hope to see you and your S on tour this year.driving

Car has now been dropped off at Surface and Design and D&C Trim in Blackpool. Here it is as I dropped it off. Terms agreed, leather and carpets selected, modifications described.... So excited to see my project move into the next phase and things are moving! Hoping to collect in May...

Very nice!! I'm sticking with the same colour which we think is cooper green. Believe you are going for something a little different! Glad yours was in though, I'm having a few of the same mods - we will have matching bonnet hinges at the very least!! Yours are fitted and look a really nice job :-)

Cheers Andrew,

I will be driving up next week to drop some bits off, the bonnet mod seemed to be a no brainer.

Mine was also cooper Green, I toyed with the idea of leaving it but the temptation of a different colour won the day.

If yours has progressed when i arrive i'll be happy to take a few pics and send them over.

It's thermotec exhaust wrap which I got from Burton power. Wasn't sure it was going to work but quite pleased with the result in the end - time will tell if it stays wrapped....!!

Hello the guys at S&D will look after her.. they've had a few s in there recently, mine was done last summer.

Having any interesting mods ?

Also is your fan shroud the right side of the rad? Mine was in front of the rad originally ? Or have you changed the fan?

Looking good
