Flick the single pole double throw switch to go back to standard set-up
If you don't like a switch mounted to the front of your knob you can use a floor mount switch and use your foot

You remember that far back, amazing memory for someone as old as you
I do think they were like that(if I could only remember that far back)

You young 'uns! rolleyes

Lots of cars in the 40's, 50's & early 60's had foot operated dip switches ( left foot ).
Those new fangled column stalk things came in later. Probably a yank idea.

Mind you, the column mounted gear change lever was a damn good idea, because this allowed a lovely spacious bench front seat, free from obstructive things like gearsticks or handbrakes. This meant that you didn't have to persuade your date to get out of the car or climb over to get to the back seat when things got amorous. The good old Consul 375 or FA Victor may not have been good for spirited driving, but you certainly got to where you wanted to be a damn sight quicker!* wink

Happy days biggrin

. * Back then, 0 - flat out in 20 mins was considered pretty fast!

ETA: I never felt the need for a switch mounted to the front of my knob. yikes Naughty Penelope!

If changing gear you won't have a spare foot for clicking a switch?

Am I the only one who doesn't quite see point of this?

Yup not sure I've ever needed this functionality... if overtaking my mains are off when approaching target car anyway.? I change down and when past target car flick the mains back on.?

I must have missed something.?

How about a nice interior light delay schematic.?

Mike, if you can heel & toe with your right foot, you can also do it with your left one ( unless you're really going for it and left-foot braking to induce the Scandi Flick whilst keeping the turbo spooled up. That's when it all gets a bit busy. ).
Mind you, if there's another car coming towards you on the night stage, there is something not quite right!

I had a number of old Minis with the floor dipper switch.

Don't recall any issues really. On the very odd occasion when on full beam and changing gear an oncoming car appeared, it was about .5 second delay from lifting foot off clutch and onto switch. I think we coped.

Do you mean one, where the interior lights come on, 5 mins. after you have gotten into the car ? confused

Maybe we all need to make an official "S" wish-list for Mr. Penelope idea

The good old days, we had a Vauxhall Cresta PB, bench seats but it just better in the back. Don't know why the back was better than the front

I had drawn a similar circuit with a switch that was mouth operated but when trying it out my teeth started to wear down

Another idea I came up with may offend some people so I apologise in advance. A small pressure pad switch could be held between the drivers buttocks and a simple clenching of the buttocks would dip the lights

Buttock operated.....mmmmm...I like that idea.

Next you'll come up with a brain operated system.
Although to make that easier you may have to get it to operate via Arms and legs 😁
