So after getting frame sound blasted it showed more rotting than I expected, I spent a while deciding what to do but ended up with this.

Hmmmm....my first reaction was SPACE! Lots of it. Ohhh the luxury.

Then I looked at the chassis! Ohhh, painful, not good.

You are going at it very thoroughly, so are you going to finish up with a before and after to compare!

Nice work, you doing it all yourself. Looks like the tin worms got to yours in a bad way, Hope you are using better steel that TVR used.

So you've made a new chassis from scratch? Impressive!!!

Have you considered making the lower cross-member (front) removable so you can drop the sump without lifting the engine? (lots of threads on here about that). Also, how about mounting points for a rear anti-roll bar?

Could you make trailing arms?

Not my shed unfortunately, it is a friend who is the fabricator of the chassis. After sandblasting the old one I thought it best to see about making one.
He has done a vixen chassis as well.
Rolled tube and thicker than the original a bit heavier but should last a while, I have given it a red oxide and a two pack paint, so if any chips come up I should spot them every year and be able to touch up.

well that is the plan.

I did not even know about dropping the sump you have given me a headache now thanks. I thought I had covered every base.

At present I am stripping down hubs, rear drums, drive shaft and props cleaning up and replacing bearings etc.

Pics to follow soon.
