V8s4me .... this isnt a bromance but once again I totally agree.
Your guide figures really aren't far out (trust me i know) you could possibly add a little more for suspension, brakes and roof but never the less you're close enough.
This is the second TVR that I have invested in, the first one lost me a fortune .... still, the misses says she loves me and i can still feed the kids!
This is something people do for the love of it, I enjoy watching an ugly duck becoming a beautiful swan.
I will say though, a very respectable TVR outlet was brandishing figures of 30-35k for a well sorted V8s .... i'm gonna take cover now and watch!!

A little bit more? I'd also forgotten new stainless manifolds and exhaust. So that's another £1,400! And there you are, the £30K plus V8S which, if you're lucky and find the right buyer with the funds, you can sell for £20K ish Worth every penny which ever route you take!
Hi Andy
The guys are right about the costs, and ours was 6 years ago now.
You wont recover your money on a full restoration... Yet!!
Such a beautiful, rare, car (Little bias ) still greatly undervalued
In comparison to some other marques but still rising fast.
We all do it for the love as you know from your Splitty.
Buy one, restore it properly and most importantly enjoy it and drive the *** of it.
Simon.

Interesting discussion, and I have some experience of owning and rebuilding a V8S, and subsequently selling.
It's still the case I think that, if restored correctly and thoroughly, the market won't value a V8S anywhere close to the rebuild cost. My car went to Tony and he was the perfect buyer, wanting the best available. There aren't many cars that have been thoroughly and professionally rebuilt - I can think of my own, and Simon's. Not intended to be disparaging other owners who may have been more hands on themselves (if only I had the skills!).
But I'd say it remains the case the the pool of buyers for thoroughly restored cars remains thin, as above £20k the choices of fun cars is pretty vast, and not that many would put the V8S at the top of their list. I'm sure great things lie ahead for these cars, especially with the renewed interest in the brand brought about by their forthcoming new model.
DJR 7 - your rebuild looks spectacular. Perhaps another level of detail again. It'll be a fantastic car, and when the sun is shining and V8 burbling with the roof down, there really is no price you can put on the smiles per mile it'll bring

I like to keep an eye on things once in a while, just to make sure people are n't- misbehaving as always.
FTFY Stuart. ETA: Nice to see you still have your V8S in your garage and also on the V8S Owners list.

Thank you sir for your kind comment.
Smiles per mile is what its all about, hoping to get it ready for Spa.

Balances due by 1st March.
I was going to go to the bank today but Storm Doris had other plans for me and started to tear the roof off my carport. There ensued a heroic and titanic battle against the elements which resulted in successful re-instatement of flailing and flapping polycarbonate roofing sheets.
So tomorrow,a day later than planned, this intrepid S Clubber will venture forth via a No.192 eco-bus unto the great metropolis to convey certain currencies to the respected vaults of TMT.
Oh, and I shall also be posting off my disclaimer forms for FTT, O&G ( or is it G&O? ), the Parade Lap Briefing form, and my vehicle details as requested.
The clock is ticking folks....

Thanks Glen
Yep, March is correct, the 1st to be precise. My comment wasn't implying you were late, it was only meant as a reminder
