As per the title.

If i had not turned to "The Dark Side " smokin then i would be all over this like a rash.

Dont wish to be seen preaching to the "converted" but these are becoming like "hens teeth" and this one is in a very nice colour. yes

I think it really suits the shape of the car.

Good luck to all who bid, and i hope it goes to someone on here.

There are currently two V8S models for sale in the UK as far as I can see, one is silver at an auction at the NEC in April the other green for sale near Manchester from a dealer. Went to see the green one 1991 yesterday, shut lines all over the place, bonnet out of line, rear boot not fitting, it had had a body off chassis restoration and overall from a distance looked very nice. In the advert there was no mention that it was a category C write off and the dealer did not inform me.
Is this legal?

But who did the work? Maybe it was just put back together very badly?

There was a large history file which I inspected very closely, any mention of the crash damage had been omitted, just didn't add up, he was very reluctant to let me drive it. Says it all really.

Yes that's the one, he says now in the re-posted add "There are conflicting reports that this might be a cat C". How can it be "conflicting" I have it in front of me. Also the front off side tyre was badly on the outer edge suggesting bad alignment, bent chassis, who knows.

There cannot be conflicting reports. You cannot be half pregnant!

If the car is a 'keeper' then Cat D or maybe C is not an issue. However, in the cruel reality, it is worth less on the open market than a pure car. The price, IMHO, should reflect a V8S in very good condition with no work needed and a full history.

My sentiments entirely, he sat there drinking a cup of tea and claimed he knew nothing about it saying it is what it is, my argument at the price he was asking I would have serious problems if I decided to sell it in the future, as said the car looks very nice, chassis is in fantastic shape but is it straight?

An 'S' that needs nothing doing to it? Where's the fun in that? laugh

Nice to have a few minor jobs to do, but no major repairs or refurbishment at this price. You have to have some fun!

Sold for £9020 according to the link by the OP. That includes commission I presume.

That's the silver one presumably? Just had a look at the add under 'Interior - Remarks' ....

"Wood veneer dashboard cracked but not too hard to repair."

might be a bit of a bargain that, if its OK underneath. I was a bit tempted but couldn't get to Birmingham to see it.

Does anyone know what condition this car was in as it sold for much less than the figures (circa £15K) bandied around on this site recently? I hope £10K isn't the going rate!!!!

You have to ask yourself why someone would sell at auction and only get about £8k after fees.
The condition report only gave three out of five stars in just about every category, which I would take to mean "getting tired"...and that no doubt also applies to the chassis.
A really nice V8S will still be worth £15k all day long.
