Not sure how far you are going with the engine before you drop it in but make sure you have a good look at the sump gasket before you drop it in if you haven’t already. They are renowned for leaking and the one I had did indeed leak the whole time I had it.
I think you will find that is the ACPS (active chassis preservation system) that you have identified.

I wonder if the engineer's at Jaguar at just watched 'Alien'?
I know and its not light either.. had all manner of issues mapping the IMT valves..

I would prefer something like this but would probably loose a load of torque..

Obv in a 6 cylinder config.

Somebody sent me some photo's of a cylinder head and suggested that the exhaust ports and bolt pattern are very similar to the cosworth 24v. It may be the same for the inlet ports in which case I might be able to produce another version of my intake plenum. Is the intake flange on the head horizontal or angled similar to the v8 plenum above?

Looks like it's out with the TIG then Mick, It's all about air flow, looks don't matter.

It looks like this these are the lower inlet manifolds from an st220 and contour the jag one is like the plastic contour one so anything would need to bolt down to this (saves messing with injectors, fuel rail etc..)

Sounds interesting smile

Thanks

Damian

Thanks. I could make a new plenum base plate if I had something to work with :-) Interesting pics, jag has bigger ports.

All ancillaries removed along with the inlet and exhaust manifolds leaving a much nicer looking block.

New ones going rearwards down past the bellhousing, as looks like enough space. Damian and Blue 30 both have theirs going that way.

Now in the process of strengthening the chassis by adding fillet plates.
Also making a solid alternator mounting. Then engine mounts.

New paint job as well. I put some 6mm steel at the back where the bottom rails are welded to the trailing arm tube in orange

Do you have a photo of yours? Does it interfere with removing / replacing the prop?

There aren't many places to brace between the two main chassis legs

Looking at that lot Mick I'm guessing you've junked the little Jag V6 and are going for something a bit bigger ? .... wink

Will be away for a few days, will dig out some pictures wed.

PS Don't over brace it, you need some flex in the chassis

One the prop, I had one made with a slide so I have enough to fit the prop and slide it into the gearbox flange, I have a flange with an adaptor plate onto the UJ. came with a donut but converted to flange and heave duty UJ.

busy couple of days: gearbox mount made. Engine mounts tidied up. Propshaft taken to be lengthened and modified for the Jag 'box. Diff (lsd) removed ready for a ratio change (cheers Alan Whitaker), Manifold gaskets taken to be used ad templates for the exhaust manifold plate. Electric water pump and controller ordered. Oh and Eurotunnel booked for the TVR S Euro tour in July. Still on target biggrin
