I’m going to see a 92 V8S at the weekend that will more than likely need new outriggers….I’ve been looking online for kits but so far have only seen for Chims and Griffs, does anyone know if there is a kit available?

I'm not aware of a kit as such but if you search on here you'll find plenty of "how to" threads.

The structure is very simple and any competent* fabricator should be able to make new outriggers from scratch. The only issue is the sizes of the tube. I believe the original tube was an Imperial size and now the readily available tube is metric.

Plenty of people have done this job so it shouldn't be an issue and the answer is almost certainly on here.

If the front corners are gone make sure you check the rear trailing arm joints and the area on the rear outriggers where the seat-belt plate mounts. These areas could be shot as well.

Thanks for your reply, I’m actually or rather was, a coded welder I was just looking for a price for a kit as a negotiation tool!!
The other thing I couldn’t find was anyone selling wishbones…..Judging by the photos they might need replacing, but until I see them in the flesh I won’t know.

Outrigger tube is 38mm x 1.6mm wall, nothing fancy like seamless. the big tube the trailing arms hang off is imperial, can be tricky to find these days.

Don't think front wishbones are available other than from a breakers yard? Not "known" as a problem.

Rear trailing arms were available or there's a guy has a jig and rebuilds them

I thought V8 was different to V6 cars and they were different on early cars?

V8S front wishbones are definitely different to V6 but unlikely to be rotten. I'm pretty sure V8S rear trailing arms were specific as well and these are very prone to rot. If you're a fabricator you could probably make you own jig if any of the tubes need replacing.
