If you're happy that this is where your problem lies I would go ahead and replace the fronts and not wait until you can afford the rears. The only thing I would seriously consider is replacing shocks and springs together as relatively speaking the springs are cheap and you may lose some of the benefit of nice new shocks by retaining tired old springs.

Do you mean the front is riding lower than it should, or the suspension is bouncing and pitching more than it should?

front is lower than it should be and the handling just doesnt feel right, would be replacing springs as well as that was in the quoted price by tower view. im assuming the fronts go quicker than the backs due to the extra weight-or not??

Low ride height is probably the damper bushes although it could also be the springs have sagged. Dodgy handling most likely to be worn dampers although worn suspension bushes can also upset things. Don't see any particular reason the front dampers should go quicker than the rears, in fact the rears are more heavily loaded. But the front dampers and bushes do suffer a lot more heat stress which might account for it.

If finances are tight it would probably be worth you pulling the springs off the dampers and seeing how the dampers feel. They are probably shot, but it would be a shame to replace them if the problem is elsewhere.

Are you going for GAZ dampers? .. I had some tested recently and they didn't fair too well (quite inconsistent at varying damper piston rod velocities) ... OK for a budget dampers but someone recently had a set fitted somewhere (don't know where) and they were 1k pounds .. you can get quality dampers for that price. If you're looking for a budget damper that looks good and is up to controlling a standard spring or very slightly stiffer then the LEDA is good .. big adjuster too for easy tweaking - don't go too high on the spring rate though 'cos they aren't stiff enough in rebound to control them. AVO also do good budget dampers plus you get a 2 year guarantee.
