-switch itself or connector inside the door are potentially at fault....along with the motor or any combination of the three. Can test the first by swapping it with the good switch. Connector is a pig to get at.....trim off job I think. No idea how to test the latter, apart from getting a multimeter on the conections and operating the switch.

Yer darned tootin...
We dismantled Ren's drivers door about a month ago in a layby in Wales. Took about half an hour to take apart, 5 minutes to realise we didn't need to, five minutes to fix the problem (drropy door mirror) and an hour to put it back together again.
At least you (hopefully) shouldn't need the post out this time, Mark!
Checked the window switches, they were fine - so off came the door but nothing obvious - cut the plastic wire ties undid all the connections lots of WD40 - put it all back together and hey presto both windows knackered
Ah ha I thought the fuse - 20 minutes dicking about with the fuses - and voila - passenger side working drivers side not. Gave up took her for a spin and bugger me drivers window starts working - and if that aint tipical TVR then what is -- so; that was my day- it will be interesting to see what works tomorrow !!
