seeing as Psychobert requested a review I thought I would do a brief one whilst it was fresh in my mind.

I tested the RA over a fair distance this weekend - Southampton to Newquay and back via another route.

Picked up every camera on the journey and was fun with me and my passenger watching it go off and then playing spot the camera as we approached. Still havent tested the laser alert part yet. However, at one point on the trip a police car had pulled over to move us on when we stopped to assist a friend re-tie the kayak to the roof of his van (dont ask). As we continued down the road and the police car went past, the laser alert came to life so it seems to be pretty aware!

So early indications are very good. Of course, its difficult to tell whether it "missed" any cameras but if it did, we certainly didnt see them. I am gradually erasing the system of the blackspot warnings as they just annoy me and make me look at my speedo as soon as they start rather than concentrating 100% on the road ahead at the point of a road that I clearly should be paying maximum attention.

Anyways, big thumbs up from me. Very very impressed.

Be warned, in the TVR my laser alert will not work, it goes completely bonkers when plugged in. This is apparently down to the electrical interference inside the S and is a problem known by Blackspot (the makers of RA). They are working on a new version that is expected to be out within weeks. In my car, I have to rely just on the GPS system until the revised version is released. We were in an MR2 and it proved the laser alert was not faulty as it worked with no false alarms in the 12+ hours of driving.

oh, and the TVR's we saw on our travels to Newquay

a dark red Chim heading south down the A36 saturday morning and a dark black/navy Griff (stunning!) on an unknown road near Dorchester on Monday pm about 3. we were the 2 in the nutter turbo jap mobile...

Odd, My Bell 550 worked just fine. Suffered from low volts when the lights, wipers and fan were on at traffic lights though.
