Can anyone recommend the best glue for various bits that come unstuck (e.g. chrome bumper trim, door/window trim, roof panel coverings).

Depends what you're sticking... My personal favourite is Araldite Epoxy. The only thing that would fix my rear-view mirror back onto the windscreen.

Even used it to piece together a broken S indicator after scrabbling around and picking up all the shards or orange glass! Don't know if I'd use it on textiles though...

hi there
i would use contact adhesive on the fabric parts and epoxy for the rest
good luck (dont use super glue on the bumper trim
doesnt work epoxy holding strong)

For vinyl trim, carpets etc I've used copydex successfully.

Isn't copydex water soluble?
many of us still have factory fitted leak option.

Just so happens I have a tube of copydex to hand and the instructions say it is resistant to normal washing machine cycles so I would guess IMHO it is not water soluble.

Yeah its good stuff that copydex. I once got a tear in my leather jacket and I took it to a leather shop and the woman there said just glue the tear together with copydex. Still holding strong after about 7 years!!!

If you've got good clean surfaces, the least messy solution is wait for it - 'mitre fix'. Comes as a two pack (DIY stores stock it). Just dap the gel on one surface and spray the other. Once you place together they won't budge.
No good on fabric tho.
