My wife did this in the Services near J4 of the M3 in our Chimaera.

She had all her money, mobile phone, everthing in the boot and the car was "open" - but the keys were in the boot so she couldn't open it using the electric switch.

So she blags a mobile phone off some passer by (thanks!) and calls her Dad who lives in Colchester as its the only number she can remember due to normally having them all programmed into her mobile. HE calls ME on my mobile and I get to drive the spare keys out to her.

She was sheepish for days and I got more brownie points than you can shake a stick at for arriving within twenty minutes....

I wouldn't mind knowing the "electrical terminal" method as well, if somebody wouldn't mind...

The PH policy prohibits publishing it here, but if any S series, Griffith or Chimaera owners want to know how to rescue your keys from the boot, mail me via my profile.

Just picked up from almost the last thread that your problem is with an electrically operated boot catch.
Just been adjusting my "Mechanical" cable operated boot catch (like the bonnet catches)and now can't open the boot!! to top it, MOT tomorrow!!

Trying the recommended approach but easier said than done - any alternatives?)

thanks pieman but the question was what if the keys are in the boot?

Ta anyway... I had to do your method when I first got mine - the battery went flat overnight the first day... and my jump leads were in the boot...

As I said before, I'm not going to post the info here, but if any TVR owners want to know, email me via my profile.

Hi, so you did! I sent you a reply the same day, presumably you didn't get it then? I'll have another go. The address it went to was the blueyonder one, is that the right one?
