Yes you are right I cannot claim the credit as I did see on this forum some time ago that they looked as though they might fit. Not sure anyone had tried them though. Anyway its a good team effort and we have another option for the future.
You spent the money as the test pilot. Credit for that!

HI v8ish, just wanted to confirm for the record that the BMW units definitely do NOT fit. I did the details on fitting the E30 lenses, we had a look at fitting the entire units but they are very different and not viable.

go to your local Kia dealer:

Part number for indicators for Kia Pride

KKY01 51073. Certainly worked for my S2

Fitted some Nissan Terrano II front indicators - they are the exact size to fit into hole in the bumper. Only needed minor mod to electrical connections and at only £10 incl P&P a bargain. I can dig out the part numbers if anyone is interested.

Guess I will keep my new pair of originals for the future or sell on e:bay to fund my retirement!!
Thats a good price, where did you get those from? Just spoke to my freindly neighbourhood nissan dealer and he wanted to fleece me for £36 each!

I got them off e:bay about a year ago. There is one on there at the moment its £15 though E:bay item number 150162429142.

As a cheap source there are a number of Terrano/Mavericksbeing broken for spares on e:bay - maybe worth a try?

Cheers

Ebay, wouldn't normally draw your attention to individual items but listed as 'more than 10 available'. Interesting.

Geert has been producing parts for "classic" TVRs (not that the S isn't classic!) - usually see more of him on the classic forum.

He must have forgotten to say "hello" on the S forum wink

Great to see the specialists are helping to keep our cars on the road and original if desired.

I had trouble finding lenses at a reasonable price which would cover the ends of the front bumper rubbers the way the originals did. So I made some myself out of five mm amber acrylic. I'm quite pleased with the result and they passed the MOT. Only cost £5 and couple of hours work, so worth the effort.

Just a word of warning if you are using Nissan Terrano indicator lenses. The price is going up! If you want spares I suggest you try ML Performance to see if he still has any left at £40. The prices on ebay have gone up a good bit more than that.....someone has found out about us!

(After looking carefully at a car with these indicators I decided to redo the front and refit all the bumper rubbers and use Terrano lenses with extra thick gaskets behind them to bring them out more in line with the bumper rubbers. It worked well. (Will try to get pic later) I immediately bought spares on ebay but my 'search' has shown a big jump in price. I did have BMW E30 which are readily available and cheap but the rounded edges of the Terrano ones do look more 'right'.

This is the dutch fella that remakes a load once in a while. Does the back unit as well in white or black I believe. A very useful alternative source - very.

With good reason too Don, they look very good. Too much work to make a few more?????

I said I would put on a couple of pics, for the record, on Terrano lenses with spacers behind the indicator units to bring them forward:

And before anyone asks: Yes it is a 2.8 V6 S1 hiding under a V8 bonnet. Recently referred to as the sheep in wolf's clothing!!!

Maybe during the winter, they are certainly simple enough.

The Terrano ones do look "right" when spaced forward.

Where did you get the material from? I have the time now! I currently have the Kia ones but would prefer something better.

Hi Paul

If you search ebay for "amber acrylic sheet" lots will come up. An A4 sheet will do 3 lenses. The diffuser to fit behind it came from a broken indicator, though you could use a piece of a florescent light diffuser if you can find an old one with a pattern you like. I posted details on here back in August 2013. I don't know how to do a link but if you Google "TVR S series homemade indicator lenses" it comes up.
Good luck.

For the 'later developing' IT skilled amongst us.

I suppose clear or smoked versions would be just as 'easy'.
