Can any one tell me where to get the bonnit release cables for an S1.Can i use ordinary cables from any motor factor or they a special item. Some bright spark has removed the ones on the car and fitted external clips. they look crap and have to come off.

The TVR garage in Knutsford Cheshire sold me mine for about £20. Any problems drop me an email - I can dig out the part number and the telephone number - they do a postal service.

Incidently, do you have the lever and roller underneath the steering wheel for the cable to be fitted?

Was able to make a pair with heavy bicycle brake cables ect. however the bonnit now pops up when i hit a bump.
I am wondering is the release catch or the boyo that slides down into it shagged!
If so can new release gear be got and if so where.

Bonnet release cables are standard items which any decent car accessory shop should have. A manual choke cable is also OK but the turn to release action is a bit of a bugger.
I have just replace the one on my S1 - it cost 6.99 (including the VAT).
Sorry if this is a bit late.

On the subject of the bonnet poping up while driving... I cured this by making some small adjustments to the bonnet hinges. It shouldn't need much.
