finally got round to taking the S2 out last week and when I arrived back I noticed a hole where my aerial used to be. Upon investigation the outer chrome cap had worked loose and fallen off - the actual aerial is all ok and fell in the boot. I have tried a couple of places without joy and I don't really want to go to the hassle of replacing all of it just for the outer part. Any Ideas??? ( not though I ever use the damn thing anyway )

I never tried Halfords to be honest, though I was hoping to replace it with an original one if possible. The ones I did see seemed cheap looking - am I too fussy!! I will give Halfords a whirl on the weekend

Interesting point though, who made the original

I believe there are about four different 'original' ones. Mine's a fixed springy black plastic thing. Got to replace it soon so that the car cover can fit on.

Mine was Italian-made electric aerial!
I ditched it after it's third rebuild and found that the radio worked better with no aerial at all.

My radio works fine too without the aerial , I wouldnt bother if there was not the hole in the back , I suppose I am only really interested in filling it with something that looks ok.

I fitted a nut and bolt through the hole with a dome head, so there's just a chrome dome where the aerial should be. Now it's a conversation piece!
