after ignoring a failed mainbeam headlight bulb, its MOT time, must admit i havent opened the bonnet for a looksee, so i can't ignore anymore. looked in my "S" bible but im stupid see. Number one....is it an easy job.....two, do i take the bulb out from behind the lens, ie: open the bonnet.....and three, is the bulb one i can buy in halfords. Help a mechanically inept TVR owner. mark

It's a standard Halogen H4 bulb - you can get in Halfords. Unfortunately they use a different stock number - so you'll need to find someone over the age of 12 to serve you - to translate it into a Halfords part number.

IIRC, after you remove the chrome trim ring you'll be able to access the securing screw and then twist the unit slightly to unclip it. Just be careful not to move the adjusting screws!

Why do so many P/headers use Halfords ????

You'll find you local Motor Factors much more Knowledgeable, if they didn't know how /where to find parts they would go bust !!

Keiran, all my parts i get from TVR dealers, but a half hour trip to waldonways for a bulb i can do without. unless of course its TVR specific. I try to avoid alfords as much as i can ... although their professional tools aint bad.
