The belt isn't missing, thats the tensioner wheel.

Interesting car btw.
I think it is missing - there's no sign of the belt on the upper or lower drive wheels either.
Stop stop...
What is missing ?
Sorry, I don't understand which part you refer to... frown
But I can assure that what you see is the original engine, no modifications were made...

Look closely at the pics, especially the third one.

Bloody hell, just found this from the S forum. I was thinking only the other day if there really was any of these in existence.

Is there a TVRCC Italy? Perhaps they have a register of the cars.

Wow, TVR really did a good job with the supercharger. The plenum appears to be a custom casting and they even added an intercooler. I wonder if the design could be made to work with the 4L.

I'm afraid you'd need a much bigger blower on a 4.0L. The obvious alternatives are physically longer, and I think you'll struggle to accommodate the extra length without pushing the intake through the bulkhead. Could be possible if you don't mind re-engineering the intake.

The belt is not missing. If you blow the 2nd image up really big you can see the belt is there but appears to be on its last legs...the shape of the pulley teeth are showing through the belt.
The 3rd image clearly shows the belt is there.

I wouldnt have thought much higher as the valvegear is still the same, and although the pistons are lighter I cant see it making that much difference, stroke is presumably the same and higher revs usually get associated with a shorter stroke engine with OHCs as preferred by the Japanese mfrs. Honda being the premier obtaining around 18000-21000 rpm on 4 stroke motorcycle engines in the mid 1960s I beleive.
