Thread resurrection - For anybody wanting the mythical 2.0 V8 - there's one for sale again. Some nice photos of the engine bay as well this time.

Does anyone know a current source of those burgundy over-mats ? I had some in my much-missed V8S and would like some for my S3 (similar interior colour scheme) but can't find anyone selling them nowadays.

Maybe your local trimmer or carpet shop could make you some?

I'll make some paper templates and hawk them around the mat manufacturers. I wonder who made the originals (I seem to recall seeing them advertised in Sprint up to the late 1990s).

If you want something bespoke then it is easier than you might think to get what you want. Find the colour you want from one from the many trim suppliers eg Woolies. Cut out the shape you want and get it edged in either wool or leather/vinyl as you want. Your local independent carpet retailer will be able to have the edges whipped with a wool blend thread at a cost of around £5 per linear meter (less probably if you live somewhere other than the South East). Leather or vinyl edging can be done by any decent trimmer for a bit of cash and some biscuits. This is one of the carpets from mine...

The black carpet came from Dunelm at a cost of less than a fiver but the whipping charge added up because each mat has a total edge length of just over 2.3m. Even so, this bespoke set cost under £30.

I made another set for the Tasmin and edged these with vinyl on a domestic sewing machine...

Easy peesey thumbup

However, if you want the 'TVR' logo on them as in the photo above then you'll need to call someone with the right machine eg Dave The Trimmer.
