My S2 seems to have a second or so delay on the throttle when blipped - can lead to stalling at the lights - (v. embarassing)

Should I adjust the mix?

my mechanics skills are limited at the moment, but I'm sure this will not be the case for long!

As all the fueliing is controlled by the ECU you won't be able to adjust the fuelling manually.

Sounds to me like one of the sensors that tells the ECU what to do, is giving inaccurate readings. Prime candidate is the throttle pot (that tells the ECU what you are doing with your right foot) which are prone to problems. Or it could be the airflow meters or.....any number of things

Try a search on 'throttle pot' on this forum you will find many posts on the subject!

If you've got the bible there is a very good description of how it all hangs together and methods for testing the components. If not, get one they are worth every penny.

Halfords sell a Gunson tester for the Ford ECU which can be useful but not infalible costs about £20 I think.

Good luck

The most common cause of this is the poor design of the cable route.
