OK - Here is my second contentious topic (After resurrecting the Swirl/Expansion quandry...)
- just got my S2
Took it for a spin on some country roads last night and was a little disconcerted by the lack of illumination.
Brings me to the sticky subject of foglamps.
Do they look naff?
are they a bit Paul Calf?
'Where did ya get yer foglamps?'
'Halfords'
It's either that, or keeping my country lane driving to daytime only!

Foglamps are (or certainly should be) designed to provide a short, low and wide beam to cut under fog and illuminate the sides of the road. Therefore, they'll not really help much in terms or normal low beam driving. You'd be far better of upgrading the existing headlight bulbs to something like the Philips VisionPlus (from somewhere like Powerbulbs) - these give a marked improvement 
with minimal effort!
If you want to fit auxillary lights you should go for spotlights, rather than fog lamps, which are designed to give a long narrow beam. Although these can only be used in conjunction with the main beam, they're useful for fast nighttime driving.
Of course, as with all these after-market products, there're good ones and bad ones, so it'd be worth trying to find some product tests if you can.

Driving lamps... intensity is different. Still not a fan, and rarely use mine... althogh I do prefer the aesthetics!
I'd still get some decent bulbs from www.powerbulbs.com first...

I thought that the s-series cars all had factory fitted fog lamps mounted in the front bumper. Can't say as I ever use mine though. I have not been out in the fog yet.

Correct, think it's in the introductory bit. IMHO they look OK, but would only put them on if mine were'nt bright enough.
