Please PODIE no KNOB gags >>>>>

I have just got my S3 and both the front Driving lamps/Fogs and Rear don't work. The rear blows the fuse as soon as they are switched on.
The previous owner removed the switch plate on the centre consul, the wiring may have been disturbed causing a short. He says that there wasn't a problem before, but did not switch the fogs on after removing the plate for painting.

Has anyone got any idea how I should attack this problem??

How can I get access to the rear of the switches, I don't suppose it is easy.....

Anyone experienced this before?
MOT is due end October so I need to sort it by then.

Please Help....

On mine, (yours may differ), centre console is held in place by 2 screws on the outside edges of the transmission tunnel behind the seats. The only way I know of to get to the wiring is to access it by lifting the whole thing up. That said, everything is fairly tightly packed in there and its a pain to get everything lined up again so I'd try chasing the wiring at the lights end backwards 1st.

I have an intermittant fault whereby the fogs sometimes come on when I switch them on, and sometimes I need to thump the switch. I think this is becasue the wiring got disturbed when the console was lifted a while ago and I still can't get it properly lined up. If you find a fault elsewhere that solves your problem, it may save yo introducing a new one..
