Hi Mike
I have an S2 and work down at the Rolls Royce site pretty near Bradley Stoke. If you would like to give the doors a go for real drop me a mail and I'll take my Beastie to work one day instead of the sensible Mazda , and you could try out the doors for size....

Hi Pav
That would be great, I am working silly shifts for the next week so basically wont be around much.

If you let me know when you will be available then we could arrange something.

I will mail you with my mobile number.

Many thanks.

Mike.

Mike,
Don't get put off with the S2 doors immediatly you try it, for your height make sure the seat is as far back as it will go before you get in.
Cheers

At the risk of opening a can of worms... I actualyl wanted an S2 as I prefer the dash, but found the S3's slightly longer doors to make easier access given my knee problems...

When Mike tries my S2 I'll have to make sure the seat is pushed right back..... me being one of those small people whose heads does not show above the head rest.....

Funny you should say that... I've witnessed Griffy do this in her 500... PRICELESS.

Out of interest how long are S 3 doors over S 2's ?
My S 2's measure 40" measured from rear edge over the door handle to front hinge line.

But then you wouldn't have got that nice side vented bonnet!

Richard,

I've got the vented bonnet and the short doors!

I even had a vented roof when first bought, complete with pool.

Christian.

To the best of my knowledge, there is little or no difference in door length on S2/S3, as I know someone who bought a 1989 S2 door to replace a damaged one on a 1991 S3 and had no problems fitting it.

S1 had short doors and 2.8 engine, S1.5 had short doors and 2.9 engine, all the rest had 'long' doors.

Probably ;-)

Sorry mate but that's utter bx - there must be a good 4 inches extra on S3 onwards doors. Promise you this is so - TVR altered the chassis structure on S3s for the longer doors.
