I believe the wing mirrors on my S2 are from the Citroen CX (mine are electrically operated), I intend replacing the glass only on both mirrors and I believe the glass is held on by double sided adhesive strip, can someone confirm this as it would mean it wouldn't matter if the glass had to be broken to get it off. (replacement mirrors cost about £3.50 each)
Thanks in advance.

I thought the CX mirrors were only fitted from the S3 onwards? IIRC some of the earlier electric mirrors were Ford, possibly from the Capri. If your mirrors are rectangular then I think they're the Ford ones.

The CX ones have a more curved design as well as a ribbed section between the rim and the body of the mirror. If you do have these, I think that the glass unclips somehow.

The second edition bible has drawing/piccies of all(well I'm sure there is another one out there). I don't don'y think you have the CX ones and at a guess it is mor like the very early Sierra ones.

The other thing about the CX mirrors is that they are heated. I doubt that you can get heated replacements for £3.50......Mind you if I'm wrong please post the source as mine are looking past their best!!!

To answer the original question...yes, the mirrors are held on with double sided tape.
