Don't know the car personally, I've seen it sprinting on the track, sounded nice, don't they all! other than that don't know it.
There are enough people that participate in the TVRCC sprinting who may have a little more info.
Easiest thing though is to speak to the guy selling it. Most Tiv owners have nothing to hide, can't really say that this one has not been raced though , but then again sprinting may be more easier on the car that doing lots of track days IMHO.

I have spoken to him and he seems to be up front but the MOT runs out at the end of Nov and he doesnt seem to want to do it and it makes me wonder why?? I am going to have a look at it and MrSheen is coming with me to have a good look at it!!

1. There are not 400 V8S cars left. 5%ish per annum get destroyed through neglect and bad driving. I would estimate about 300 ish right now.
2. There are nearer 6000 Chims made. Let's say 4500. 15 times as many which would mean around 10 or so V8S which sounds about right.
3. The S series were/are a budget car (very nice budget car though) compared to the Griffs and Chimaeras. As these drop in price, they will push the S series down. The V8S prices are dropping because perceived better value Chims are available.
4. Griffs are about the only V8 cars that are holding their prices simply because they have gained cult status and there are a lot less of them about.

In the end of the day if people are not buying prices will fall. Law of supply and demand.

yep ! fraid so , still got my griff 200 though , prob be buried in that. marcos is an ex benson and hedges concours car , its a 1971 car and is the first that was fitted with a v8 in conjunction with factory, so i guess its a prototype, the owner had it for 23 years.Prob get completely excommunicated if i post pics , but what the hell , as soon as ive got some i will post them on forum.
Regards Darren.

I think £15k

£15k for a V8S !

I really don't know how you private sellers sleep at nights? !!!

This is a real concours example... simply the best one I have EVER seen. If I had the cash, I'd have put in an offer... :sigh:

From the pics I can say that Andy Hills V8S (Mr Sheen) which has won many concours prizes is in better condition!!! But I would agree its certainly up there among the best! £16K is still a lot of money for a V8S though!

I've seen Andy's a few times as well, and yes Andy's has a shinier body, but take it from me this one is inheirantly(sp?) better condition. It only had 8K on it when I saw it a few weeks ago .
Disagree, with the price being too much, what price would you say when average ones fetch £10-12K .

Harry

I wasnt really referring to the bodywork of Andy's car, which of course is superb, I meant the overall condition!! Andys car only has 15K miles too and there are certainly no marks on the underside of the chassis like this one and not even any dirt on the inside of the wheelarches for that matter??? That is still quite sad Andy????

I didnt mean the price for this car is too much as someone obviously disgrees and bought it. IMHO for £16K I would rather buy a Griffith!

Just looking back over the 'S' forum and noticed this one. Just found this photo of the underneath of my car, nothing has been replaced or painted just polished insitu. The whole car is how it left the factory but much cleaner.

That's orginal red powder coating from when it was made. All V8S's that I have seen all have red powder coated chassis. I haven't taken much notice on the newer models but I'm sure I have seen a Griff. and a Tuscan that had white chassis's (but I could be wrong).

Red , I thought when they had the differing production runs through the factory at the same time it helped to identify what type of car it was for.
V8S = Red IMHO, not seen a different colour one. Have seen S1/2/3 in red/white/grey though.

Harry

PS if mine looked like Mr Sheens underneath I'd be a very happy bunny.

You mean to tell me after putting all that bright hamerite red on the car, there's a better match out there....................but then again once you reapply waxoil it all looks shite again
So are there any V8S's out there that don't have Red chassis's then
