Choosing my first TVR....
Discussion
I had an S3 and now a chim. The Chim and Griff are entirely different cars to the S. The S is like driving a classic car. The Chim is fair more modern in terms of everything, but in particular 2 helpful additions over my S are a) brakes and b) lights. The S didnt come with these as standard
The S is a rare back to basics driving experience. Its great fun, and sometimes within speed limits
The V8S is a stonking car. My Chim is way off the pace of HarryW's sorted V8S and they are pretty special. Cant quite put my finger on why, but just a "special" TVR to me.
The Chim is a lot faster, a lot more capable and better all round car than the V6S. I can see how some miss the fun factor of the S. Personally, i prefer the all round car the chim is. However, if I ever needed to sell the chim, I would be first in line for an S. Not an introduction to TVR's at all, a really top fun car thats remarkably cheap to run. And they will always hold a place in the heart of those who owned one

Snap..
When I was at Peninsula a couple of weeks ago, they had a white S3 for sale, and I'm sure there was a met grey, and a blue one lurking - and think one was a V8S.
They will of course charge a premium on top of private sale (and peace of mind), but a test drive is free! (and you still may buy)

I think most buy with the heart based on shape.
The V8S was rushed out as a stop gap while the Griffith chassis was, further, tweaked. However I'm sure HarryW will give you a totally unbiased opinion soon! Also, for fun, ask on the Griffith forum if you should get a Golf Buggy (aka Chimaera).
David
S1 and Griffith.
Only just noticed this you cheeky buggerrr , unbiased my assss, biased all the way me , get a V8S
