The 'T' piece spoken of above; I didn't have one in my cylinder..... just the two pistons

For information, I just bought and fitted this kit from BiggRed:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/310909239958?_trksid=p20...

Here they are aligned next to the pistons after removal:

1. gun turret seals. Not replaced as they weren't leaking and looked like the turrets would rather break than come out... job for another day.

2. location of retaining screw for the spring. This was seized and no manner of tapping or plus gas would free it so we used gentle heat from a blow lamp whilst turning with a screwdriver.

3. and 5. are prised off over the piston edge.

4. just pulls off.

Give the old pistons and cylinder a good clean up and soak the seals in brake fluid to help with refitting.

As I did not have the 'T' piece mentioned earlier, or any circlip, we had to carefully push the cylinder back onto the servo with seal 5 still proud of the barrel. When it located we pushed it all the way on and fitted the nuts quickly.

Bleeding the cylinder was done by refitting and tightening the reservoir hoses but leaving the pipe connectors finger tight and pumping until fluid was expelled.

Bled the brakes in NSR, OSR, NDF, OSF order.

Prior to the job I had about 3-4 inches of pedal travel and then had to pump again to get a good response, now it's just over 1" with no sign of fade. Too late and dark for a proper test drive but will do that this evening.

One negative, the OSF bleed nipple was very hard to free and ended up being rounded. Managed to bleed and re-tighten but would like to get a replacement. Does anyone know the size?

One thing I never noticed before, the servo bulged slightly when the pedal was depressed. Normal?

Thanks to everyone for the help over my past few threads.

Steve
