Stu, are they fuel pipes wrapped in heat sheild on the near side? The ones on my S2 follow the vee back above the bellhousing and are secured to the top chassis rail.
Well spotted! The previous owner fitted a fuel cooler (looks exactly like a little oil cooler) and the pipes run down to that located at the front of the car. I nearly removed it when I did my front end chassis refurb but as the car runs so well with it I thought I may as well leave it in. I have put a stainless steel mesh in front of it to protect it, should in the unlikely event a stone manage to find its way towards it as I don't fancy fuel spraying backwards onto a hot engine/exhaust yikes

Quick work on the chrome pipe by the way, much prefer the look.

Thanks, Mike for the picture of your stainless item too. Excellent job and on the to do list, although the chromed copper pipe may be easier.

Yep, the rest of it is in someone's bathroom.

eek Copper.........??????!!!!

I would be a bit worried about that. In a former life I looked after the maintenance of all buildings at Elveden Forest Centre Parcs. We had a hotel that had flow rates and temperatures not far off our engines.

The main pipework was copper and in just 5 years had started to go so thin it weeped.

On top of that theres another dose of disimilar metals etc.

Go stainless or steel. I have a piece of 20mm stainless conduit waiting in my garage for just the job :-)

Sorry, only just noticed your post. I did change my alternator belt to a 10 x 1200mm one. So it is longer with my alternator bracket mod but I can't speak for others that have just bent the angle of their brackets.
HTH, Stu.

Finally sourced a nice pair of alloy rocker covers for a sensible amount of cash.

Just wondered what others had done to plumb the PCV valve in? With mine being an S3C it has the carbon can thingy which links into the line between the PCV on the rocker cover and the feed into the plenum.

The new rocker covers only have the small threaded take off (see pic) rather than the hole and grommet for PCV. What was this used for originally? Using the patented blow through it test it has more resistance than the PCV valve.

Thought I'd ask now so I can sort it whilst I'm fiddling with alternator brackets etc.

Pics would be great if it shows where the hose goes.

New rocker covers - first installment. Looking good.

Other side is still the scabby tin thing as I've not sorted the alternator bracket or breather yet.

Has anyone tried an inline PCV valve? I'd rather not drill the covers for the standard grommet unless I have to! I know the pressure/flow may be different. Sadly I don't have access to a nice lab with flow testing kit anymore.
