In the snow last night we wondered if anyone would be going to the meet, turned in to the car park to find three S series. So well done Mike, and Nic both in their V8Ss and Chris in an S2. My excuse - the S needs a quick look over before MOT and Tax......

dont worry - keeping the chim for a bit. Still fighting the idea of a cerbera but I just cant handle the prospect of a hard top so the chimaera is staying. Really enjoyed the drive on Sunday and on the way there we were pushing it up to very high speeds. Mels Griff might have pulled away from me, but the performance is still plenty in the 4 litre and enough to blow away everything on the road that day apart from the Griff, Esprit V8 and HarryW's V8S that were in convoy.

When I said new car I meant new second car. The mondeo is going going gone. Very economical but i have decided silly season has arrived. Tomorrow I pick up the most dull looking car possible. A dark green Rover 600. But I thought sod it and went for a Ti version. Looks the same as any other 600 but with 205 bhp Turbo engine. Plan is to tune it to about 285bhp which isnt expensive or difficult. Up the boost, add a few bits and roberts your fathers brother. On the outside, it has no spoiler or anything, so I am adding a diesel sticker below the 600 sticker in place of the ti. Then I am going out to play with unsuspecting sccobies and VTR/VTS saxos. Even as standard the performance figures are pretty scarey for a dark green grandad mobile...

funnily enough he is down for the weekend.

I did see a grey one as well but I liked this green one as it really does look the perfect old man car. Going to stick a box of tissues on the parcel shelf but trying to think what else i can do to make it look even more grandad - maybe a tartan blanket on the parcel shelf too. Need to get the TDI sticker for the back first.

just realised the BHP on the Rover will be more than the TVR.

Mum's got one, she likes it's ability to overtake, her previous cars were V6 Scimitar and 3.4 mk2 jags!

I think Bridgdav had one before he got the S.

Couldn't make it last night as was lying under the car extracting (or trying to at least) the propshaft. Snow was falling on the ground outside as was in the garage.

There's dedication for you.

Like your style shnozz , what about a nodding dog .
I suppose it will be difficult to pick one thats not been thrashed, but then again you're only going to thrash it yourself and then some .
I also summise that it will probably go through front tyres quicker than your Tiv does rear ones .

when I have ever thrashed a car Harry?

The current front tyres have done 15k and are only half worn not too sure my driving style is going to continue that trend.

perfect! It has a tow bar so the caravan club sticker is a must. Will try and get hold of one somehow.

All 'I bought this car from my company on retirement' Rovers I've seen ALWAYS have a multi-coloured golfing umbrella, and a Panama hat on the back shelf!

Might want to watch the tartan blanket in a Rover though - you might have 'Pwig' on your case

Kieran - nice suggestion mate. Will pick up a panama. tongue twisted then. and a brolley.

only problem with all this rear parcel shelf stuff, when I do boot it to see off the imprezas turbos etc, its going to fly around all over the place. Will buy some velcro to be sly and fix it all in place underneath. fantastic.
