Well, the exhaust patching up job I did blew up on Friday just outside Leeds, leving me with a car that sounded like a worn out lawn mower.Saturday was spent cursing as I removed the exhaust and down pipes, which were rotten. On the ood side I only had to replace the down pipes. But trying to get an air tight seal was harder than expected. I think there is still a small leak, but by no means as bad as before.
Today on checking the throttle cable I found that some nice person had snapped the adjuster, so I spent a while relacing the throttle cable.
How is everyone else's fixed? The cable I bought had a ball joint at the end, but mine was attatched by a botl and screw. So after a bit of fiddling I drilled out the cable end and fixed it back into place. I can now reach the accelerator pedal and heel and toe.
PAinting starts tomorrow, hopefully.

most i have seen are a ball and socket but mine was bolted through as well. Made for an interesting fix at the roadside when the replacement wasnt drilled through - ended up have to scrape a hole through it using a small flat head screwdriver. Next replacement I stuck an airgun in the hole and fired it. seemed to do the trick.

Harry
havent seen them for sale in Halfrauds before I must say.
Lovely road Saturday - will remember that one for next time - although at one stage I was starting to feel sea sick on those clear straight with the ups and downs.
Well, looks like the bad weather has put pay to my attempts to respray the car, so it looks like it's going to be a general correction of all stone chips anc scratches. Just been testing my stone chip fixing method on the rear of the car. Unfortunately it's raining, again, and I can't get to the front of the car as everytime I open the garage door it gets wet.
Hope fully it will work. If all goes well I may try for some armourfend or somthing. Any ideas where and how much it will cost?
Recieved my Renovo today as well. Great service, ordered on Sunday night recievd this morning. Will try it in about 30 min or so and take some pics of before and after.
My lights have delayed again and they are now expected on Friday. But have managed to:
Flat and rebuff rear of car
Replace down pipes and exhaust system
Replace plugs.
Check discs, pads and shoes
Drive around in the sun a lot.

Ok, so the lights hadn't arrived or been shipped by Thursday so the order was cancelled. I have purchased some of the 60% brighter Xenon bulbs for the car instead.
Have removed the light trim and new polished ones ill be installed tomorrow.
My garage is like an ice box so my paint work has been relagated to touching up small chips rather than a full respray. Garage is too big to heat properly.
Have renovoed the two panels with excellent results!! Off to do the main part in a sec.
Hopefully it will be back on the road tomorrow fully meguired and waxed. Considering replacing the driving lamps. A pair is only £15 or so.
Also need to remove the stereo and fit a disc changer.
Will post pics when I have finished.
