I'm currently stuck in Colchester at my in-laws. my clutch master cylinder spring having broken on my way home from Austec! Can anyone who knows this area suggest a place (TVR parts suppliers or a sh$t hot motor factors?) I might replace the part... Its a Girling 64676310 - I've heard it may be TVR specific, morris 1000 or TR6? Anyone with any details most appreciated as I'm supposed to be driving back to work on Monday in Bristol!!!

As you have the part number any half decent motor factor should be able to get the part, however they will be unlikely to source it before monday as today is a Bank Holiday

I suggest you look on yell.co.uk fo motor factors near you current position and ring round explaining that you need one before Monday, they may put you in touch with teir supplieres directly and you can source one from them.

Good Luck.

Had exactly the same thing happen, although ten years ago. The local motor factors had one, even with the same part number I think, but when I came to fit it the hole for the copper pipe coupling was the wrong size. In the end I just swapped the springs over which were identical. An expensive spring but you couldn't buy it on it's own.

If you are talking about the internal spring then you can get it from Rimmer Bros it's the spring for the TR6 clutch master cylinder, at least that is what I used when mine broke last year.

Decided to replace the whole unit as it's getting on a bit now, and Offord had one in stock. Trouble is I have the same prob of trying to remove the brass pipe union - no chance so I'll replace the pipe with a stainless braided one - anyone know what the thread is on the Slave end? In the meantime I've used the internals from the new unit in the old body works OK so I'll make work for Tues! (As for Austec I'll post a new thread later)

Thanks everyone

Simon
