If you are still interested.

I was told about this thread the other night by the cars third owner. I was the 2nd owner. I bought it from Chequered Flag, chiswick (block of flats these days) in early 1992. Sold it in 94 to a friend.

Took it on many great drives. The best being a 2 week trip to the south of France and back via Italy and Austria. Sounded great in the tunnels.

Here's a rather scratchy scan of a pic taken at the Goodwood circuit in 1992

Just realised that this shot is the car with the origonal wheels. They were nicked by some scum bag about a year later. I replaced with the same + locking nuts

This one is at the top of a Swiss mountain summer 1993. With new wheels

Would be interested to know what you did to the car
Exhaust and diff I recognise note sure about the superchip and the chassis was not that bad when I refurbished it

hi you will see a lot of receipts for work done around the reading/Bracknell area (garage was old ford autos is one garage I remember), engine was from BELL HILL garage I think, and it had 30-40k on the clock I think half of what the milometer had at the time (around 70k if I remember correctly) . the superchip you can see if you look at the ecu, there should be a blue piggyback attached to it, also it went with the 2 k+ns. the car did feel more responsive since that was installed. When I went to see it to buy it back from somewhere in scotland, both outriggers at the front and the sides had gone (massive holes in them), I did speak to the previous owner who said he had done some welding, but it was probably done with the body off, as I could feel a weld path with a hole as it wasn't welded all around. but aside this as I sadi loads of holes at the front.

Many thanks will look a little harder, what increase in BHP do you think the chip gives and is it reprogrammable?
This is the chassis now

You weren't kidding about the ground up rebuild smile Hope the rebuild goes well. Would love to see some photos when it's complete

I'm not much of a DIY man, so all repairs were done by the TVR Centre Barnet. Nothing major as far as I remeber - still spent pleny of money with them

im so glad you brought it back to its former glory and obviously very jealous, i still have a big canvas photo of it! when it came up for sale I flew up to perth from reading to buy it back and was so disappointed the chassis was that far gone. when i inspected it i could feel the botch repair and the rest. Power wise i think it gave it about 15-20bhp when i had it chipped and did the air filters. so if it was about 170 as standard id say anything between 180-190, the chip cant be reprogrammed as its a piggy back which i think is obsolete now, but its specific to the setup

sold it to buy my cerb which i still own but i still miss the raw driving experience of it, a couple of other things i did was replace the drive shafts (as one snapped), changed the radiator and painted the rocker covers green, as well as the tvr club sticker on the screen!

if you ever want to sell it let me know.

The above photo is before the rebuild
To be honest the chassis was not that bad and could have been done by just lifting the body. Just the corners of the outriggers as the photo and the seat belt mounts at the back
Will keep posting progress

there was quite a bit of surface on the main chassis rail also, from the chassis picture i assume you did all this

Someone had covered everything in waxoil and under seal
And as you can see it's been shot last and painted so no real issues

Was there any sign of the pedal box being moved? I'm 6ft6 and when I bought it, the garage said they could move the pedal box (I test drove a different car), but I couldn't tell the difference

Not sure I could get in and out these days. I used to have to get out and push it into some parking spots smile
